Conjunctivitis basically means inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye. 

It is usually infective but can be viral  or allergic. Most patients only have the infection in one eye, but it can occur in both eyes.

 

Symptoms of conjunctivitis 

  • Gritty feeling in the eyes
  • Itchy eyes
  • Discharge from the eyes
  • Red eye 
  • Eye lashes may be stuck together in the morning
  • Slight redness of the eye lid

  • Soothing eye drops 
  • Antibiotic tablets
