This is a very contagious, superficial skin infection (occurs on the outer layers of the skin). It is caused by bacteria, e.g. Staphylococcus aureus and/or Streptococcus pyogenes.
Symptoms of impetigo
This condition causes the characteristic honey coloured or golden crusts on the skin. This can be on the face or on the hands. If these crusts come off, there can be redness underneath
Treatment of Impetigo
The main thing to remember is not to scratch
Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the area
