This is a rash that typically presents on the face. 

It is associated with facial flushing and affects older people more. Women tend to get it more than men. 

Symptoms of rosacea

  • Redness on the face 
  • Facial flushing on the forehead, nose and cheeks
  • Soreness
  • Burning 
  • Itching 
  • Small blood vessels that are visible on the skin
  • Oedema (fluid retention, causing swelling)
  • Spots, e.g. papules and pustules affecting the forehead, cheeks, nose and the chin
